Using newly developed high power LED's, we now have a range of very efficient lighting which offer a big reduction in energy consumption over compact fluorescent lamps of equivalent light output. These are not to be confused with older low power LED lamps, which have been sold for some time in GU10 format, and are very dim! At present our range comprises the following CE approved items. 4W LED lamp Single 4W LED chip, 220V, E27 cap (this is the normal
sized Edison screw cap which is often used as an alternative to the familiar
standard sized bayonet fitting) £12 + VAT (£14.40)
Below is a picture taken of this lamp, together with an 11W compact fluorescent (normal low energy lamp) in the same fitting with a diffuser over both. The 11W cfl is sufficient to light the small room it is in on its own, even though in the image it appears dim. Note that the LED lamp (which is the brighter one in the image), is directional, and pointing at about 80 degrees to the camera. If it were pointing directly at the camera, it would appear substantially brighter. We realise this is not a very scientific measure of light output, but it serves to give some idea of how bright they are. 7W LED lamp Single 7W LED chip, 220V, E27 cap (this is the normal
sized Edison screw cap which is often used as an alternative to the familiar
standard sized bayonet fitting) £17.25 + VAT (£20.70)
Below is a picture taken as above, with the 7W lamp replacing the 4W Floodlight Single LED chip, available in 3 power ratings. 220V,
IP65 rating. 80Lumen/W. Tungsten halogen bulbs give around 15
lumens/Watt. Sturdy die cast case, much better quality than traditional
halogen floods. These are quite expensive, but they are at the cutting
edge of technology! 10W 20W 30W
